Blind bag surprise?

I don't know if this has been asked since recently there have been tons of blind bag threads I haven't read but.. Does anyone prefer to purchase blind bags without looking at the little numbers to see what pony is inside?
It's cool to be able to pick out your favorites, but I think half the fun is in the surprise. And that is the whole point of them anyway.

Is it just me?

I'd love to do that, honestly, but I don't have the money to just buy randomly since I can't afford them all (I only got all of wave one by returning a few Christmas gifts).

However when I got wave one I opened them without looking at the numbers so it was kind of a surprise. And realizing I was missing Fizzypop was also a surprise, albeit an annoying one. xD

I bought some wave 1 by surprise. But I will not be purchasing them again like that to avoid doubles and mane 6! It was fun though to get the first few as a surprise!

I did that with the Wave 3 just for a giggle and without looking I picked up 5 - excellent I got another Big Mac....however I also got another Twilight and Rarity....my house is over run with Rarity blind bags now!

I think the surprise is fun but I would like to know where the numbers are on the bags. Can anyone help me out with that?

When buying the third wave the other week, I made sure I had one of each (plus some extras for fun, lol), and then opened them at random without looking at who was what number. I knew I had them all, but I had much more fun being surprised when I opened them (or disappointed when it was one of the mane six!)

The number is embossed inside the bag seam on the back, near to the hole punched to hang the bag, just open the seam (unfold it, as opposed to opening the bag) and check the number. Be sure to look carefully as some numbers can look very similar (eg 5 looks a lot like 3 and 8)

If I could find them here I know I'll be hunting first for Rarity and then moving on. I kind of like surprises it really depends on my mood.

i havent been able to find any yet :< but when i do i think the first couple i buy are going to be surprises, but i dont have the money just to buy them all, even if i can sell doubles, so i'll probably look up numbers   *feels like a cheater!*

if i could afford it, i would love to have them all be surprises (i'm a broke college kid)! i kind of feel bad sifting through the bin of them at walmart, picking out my favorites, when little kids are going to get stuck with my rejects. :/ but i avoid the mane 6 so hopefully that's what they're wanting anyway!

I think not knowing what is inside would honestly drive me crazy--lol.  I want one of each so getting duplicates and possibly not getting some I want would drive me nuts.  I guess I'm not one for surprises--I like to know.

I'm really grateful that there is a way to determine.

Before I got into ponies I collected a lot of Re-Ment. Sometimes I'd have days where I'd pick out just a few boxes, but a lot of the time I came to regret it because I'd either end up with doubles, triples even, or I'd end up buying the whole case set later and have extras that way. The extras have been difficult to sell or trade off lately too which is frustrating!

So now when I buy Re-ment I usually try to make the decision if I want the whole set or not from the beginning. I kind of made that decision when I started buying blind bag ponies as well.
