shelves... they went too long in boxes during our move....  and they got packed wrong... anywhoo.... I would pack them standing in low level boxes that maybe could hold one layer of ponies... like under the bed bins, not squishing too many in each row to give them room to breathe

I've heard some can stain each other so I'd definitely use something to separate them.

Just don't use coloured tissue paper as this stains the ponies!

Personally I use sandwich bags with zip-lock for each pony (seperate ones for accs),
and then put them in a non-clear container to keep them out of the light.

I also find it's a good idea to wrap up hair so it doesn't loose it's shape.

I've always used large underbed storage tubs with ponies wrapped in tissues paper :)

Mine are mostly in individual baggies inside a trunk in the closet.  Some are in an under-bed storage bin under the bed, but those are my MIB G3's. I really wish I had the space to display them, but they're sadly all packed away where they're safe from sunlight and moisture. I also threw in some of those silica gel packets from buying new shoes to help with humidity control.

Mine are in several plastic tubs, each in their own sandwich baggie. Not the zipped kind.

When I moved I put them in cardboard boxes for a few days and didn't seperate them. None of them were harmed. If you wanna put them away for a few days only to rearrange your display there is no need to worry if you put them in a box that is just there.

If you live in a humid enviroment (or even one thats not dry) becareful of mold. I like to let my ponies 'breathe' and not stay air tight but zip-locking and stuff seems to work for a lot of people, also if they are in clear cases keep out of sunlight because it can hurt the fading pink hair
