My plan backfired...

My 4 year-old daughter and I share the same birthday (which happens to be today). I had been wanting the Target exclusive set with the small Princess Luna for a while and decided that I would buy it online and that I would give it to my daughter on our birthday, along with her other presents, but that I would tell her that one of the ponies in the package would be for me and that the other one would be for her. I thought that I knew my daughter well and was convinced that she would choose Princess Celestia because she's pink, she's quite a bit bigger and she just looks more like a Princess with her tall skinny legs and her large glass-like wings. Imagine my shock when she opened the package and without hesitation, she chose... Luna    I tried as best as I could to convince her that Celestia was better, that she was the "good Princess", that she was prettier and blah, blah, blah. She just wouldn't budge. She says that she likes Luna because she's "sparkly". Now she's going up to bed with Luna, with her hair and tinsel all messy and she put "my" Celestia down next to my computer. *sigh*

I don't like tinsel much either and I removed it on most of my store-bought G3s but I keep it when the pony is somewhat rare. Since Luna isn't available in Canada, I wanted to keep her as is. But I have a feeling that when my daughter will be done playing with her, I won't have a choice but to get rid of it...

That is hilarious! That sounds like what my daughters would do... that's why if I'm planning to "share" I debox first and just hand them the one they're getting and then maybe let them see mine after that. LOL!

I just got the Canterlot castle set with Shine Bright TS and Starbeam Twinkle... I was SURE they'd pick the light-up one, but just to be sure (glitter is awfully tempting after all), I pulled Starbeam out of there and she went into my collection before they saw her.

Maybe your daughter will trade with you before Luna gets dread locks. Hooves crossed!
