Do Pony bodies stain...each other?
« on: February 03, 2012, 12:26:21 PM »
So my ponies were in storage for over a year. And by storage I mean I put 200 loose ponies in a giant cardboard box.  But at least it was temperature controlled in a nice cozy closet in my mom's house!

I brought all the ponies out of storage and for the most part they faired just fine. Hair is all sorts of crazy, of course, but everyone seems okay, with a few exceptions.

Two of my white G3's were somehow stained, but none of the ponies in the box were wearing any clothes or accessories. One of the white ponies now has a big neon pink streak down her back, and another has a yellow stripe down her leg.

I'm assuming the color must have come from the hair and/or body of a pony they were resting on?  Has this happened to anyone else? I didn't think about not letting the ponies touch each other when I put them in storage lol.

I'm hoping to sun bleach or use some other method to remove the marks, since the pretty ponies are mint otherwise!
Thank you Thimble for my amazingly cute avatar!

I have seen hair stain bodies - the yellow neon hair of Surprise seems to do this quite easily...I think the colour can actually leach from the hair [mainly the bright pinks, greens and yellows] I assume some of them were not actually colour fast. Likewise I had a baity Sundance who was pressed along side Hula Hula for about 6 months and she now has a lovely bright pink streak on her shoulder.

Alternatively some of it could be regrind....

My first thought was staining from the hair. A bit of sunfading should fix it up. Just cover the symbols, eyes and hair so they don't fade too.

I have never heard of the bodies staining other bodies, but I have seen hair stain and symbols bleed.

I agree, try sunfading :)
