Hybridizing normal MH and CAM...
« on: January 31, 2012, 02:20:31 PM »
Okay. So, I hate contributing to the flooood of MH...
But, I'd seen people pull off combing the CAM pieces with a normal MH body. IE, Spectra's body with the skeleton pieces.... A long time back, I bought an original Cleo with a messed up leg, popped her head onto a nicer cleo with a good body, that I'd got extra cheap... For moooonths this sad, messed up cleo with her messed up leg has been my test subject for customs. Buuuut now I want to recycle her body so that I can have a CaM girl. With a little paint, I can make her work for my skeleton.

I've got the arms covered, just got to drill them a bit bigger, buuut I'm not sure how to go about the legs.... Does anyone have any experience with removing these?

Like... Where would one even begin?

Are you removing from the hip or the knee? If you remove from the knee you can basically break or cut the lower leg off, then drill the plug out of the hole..It pops out after a while XD SUPER TINY drill bit, super careful hand..

I would say as far as the joints in her hips, maybe pulling out the current mechanisms, and filling the hip socket with some sort of semi-flexible molding compound [or maybe the type that you make molds out of that IS flexible], then maybe press the joint of the cam leg in and let it dry ?

I'm taking it out at the knee. I'll have to fill a small enough drill bit for it... Unfortunately, one leg is already pretty mauled, as it had been broken there when I got her. I might try drilling out the plug on the nice side, and see if I can wriggle it out on the other, since the back of her upper leg is split there.

:3

And thanks. :)

Someone posted a tutorial not long ago on the main MH thread, it was very specific about how to make it work. I didn't save the link thought but going back a few pages you should find it :)

Ooooh, I might just give that a try, since I'll be painting the legs anyway, and one of the legs is already partially split. I'll try to continue slicing it tonight, I think.
