I just melted a pony in the oven!!! :(

okay so for some reason i felt like trying to do a custom with sculpey hair today.


And i did her mane and tail and then followed the directions on the sculpey. After she was in there about 4 minutes i smelt burning plastic... and i opened the oven and it was smoking! and my poor pony had fallen over and got melted!


  now what do i do? I just wanna cry!

I put the oven on 275' just like the package said...


but i have a gas range stove so i wonder if that had something to do with it?

It might have been the oven, or it may have been that I heard ponies start getting a little "weird" past 250°F. Maybe it was a combination of both? I don't have any BBE myself, so I don't know if their plastic varies from normal G1. Poor baby.

Well as far as what to "do" I don't you can save this one. Close her eyes and give her a proper burial. Maybe sing "Always Another Rainbow" over her grave. 

Next time... get the no bake air-dry Sculpey.

Oh wow you must be so diappointed. I think the only thing you can do is toss the pony.  Hey when you are customizing you are bound to have mishaps now and then.  As bad as they are its bound to happen to everyone sooner or later. Don't be too hard on yourself.  I am sorry.  I have had plenty of mishaps with things I have tried to fix and I don't even customize really. Want to, but don't know how...so it happens.  I am too embarassed to share the nutso ideas I have had that have destroyed perfectly adorable G1 ponies.
