Beddie bye eye rust
« on: January 24, 2012, 12:24:50 PM »
I have a beautiful BBE baby sundance, but she looks like she has a bad case of pinkeye because of all the rust on the whites of her eyes.  Is there a way to get rid of the rust without removing her head?  The tutorials I've seen all involve taking the head off, but that completely freaks me out.  Help!

You could try to just turn her upside-down and soak her head in a bowl of hydrogen peroxide.

 I hope it helps.

Also, put toothpaste and baking soda on a toothbrush or Q-tip and rub her eyes.  Then rinse with water!

I scraped the rust off a BBE's eyes with dull tweezers. xD

Though that's probably not the best method. I got frustrated because the toothpaste and dish soap options didn't work (they just took away eyelashes). The scraping worked well though. Got it all off. :D

I take a tweezers with small chunks of magic eraser. Time consuming, but it lightens rust up.

Have you tried Rit Rust Remover?  I think people usually take the ponies head off when using this, but I don't see why you'd HAVE to.

I've managed to rub BBE eyelashes off with whitening toothpaste too.
