How to get the heads off g4s?

For those who've customized/ rehaired g4s, how on earth do you get the heads off to rehair them? I really want to make some but do you just cut it off and glue it down or is there some trick I'm missing? Please help!

Pain in the butt! Turning the head around backwards and pushing it toward the front when you pop it off helps, too.

Oh my gosh you all are the best, those tutorials helped a lot:D Too bad hubby already broke Snowcatchers head but if I can't get it off at least she can just be G1 TAF Baby Sweet tooth all grown up:)
