Quick Question About Customs

Hello everyone, I was just wondering if anyone knew what size needle on Dolly Hair's re-rooting tool you would use while making a custom from a G4 or G3. I'm not sure what size is the best fit for making ponies with thick manes.

i wish i knew the answer but for some reason im thinking 10 or 11. i can be totally off though. i hope you find out from someone who is sure lol. but here is a bump for you

Needle sizes run from 4 to 10. Size 10 will be far too flimsy, as those are the finest needles. I usually get a set of the size 8s. They're a good midway; not too thick that they'll split the plastic and not too thin that they'll break after a few attempts to rehair. I haven't had an 8 break when I've been rehairing.

I do suggest you also use a small thumbtack to gently widen each plug hole, before you use the rehair needle. The plastic shrinks back around the plug fairly quickly, and it helps preserve the needle.

I use size 8 too but I stick a sewing needle in to widen the holes first (a thumb tack will work just as well).
