Getting the Metal Clip Off the Tail?
« on: January 21, 2012, 06:38:32 AM »
That little thing in the middle of the tail that catches on the washer. Anybody know how to get it off without damaging the hair? I'm particularly wondering about the ones used on the G4s.

It takes me time and a pair of pliers.

I do it often enough, but I have to be careful not to slice my finders on the metal!

I use double pliers. I grab one side and hold it tight, then use the second pair to grab the metal (where it bends into the hair) and then twist it the opposite way, away from the hair until the whole clip is bent backwards. then I just lift the hair out. it sounds dangerous, but I've never lost enough more then just a few strands.

Ah! Thanks! I have managed to get a couple open now and started making the tails into useable hair. The downer? Most of the G4s have mixed color tails. Let the sorting begin. -_-
