When [if ever] will you consider your collection complete?

I have the classic "unachievable" goal of wishing to have all US and UK/Euro ponies complete and loose [with all accessories] and while I am happily not far from that goal, I am now down to about 20/25 pieces most of which I have only ever seen for sale once, twice or never at all....therefore I have come to the conclusion that "never" is the answer to the above collection for me! And to be honest I am quite happy with that...it means the "collecting" will never be over! [And thank you G4 for letting me find another outlet!]


So what about you - do you have a final goal that you are striving for or are you whimsical and pick and choose as you go?

My herd is 99% complete in my eyes, so I am not buying a ton anymore. There are just a few things left, I keep passing on them looking for a deal so I really could be 100% complete with my collection just about any time I guess.

But that does not mean I stopped looking for stuff I have been searching for a new nirvana grail, but just can not seem to find one that fills the shoes of Algodoncete. Maybe that is a good thing for the wallet, ey?

I'm working on the USA set. Trying to get the ponies, and accessories. That should keep me busy for a couple years. After that, UK's and whatever MOC/MIB I can get my hands on. I like that I'll never be done. There is always something else out there! Upgrades, merch, etc.

When I have two of every single pony ever made including all variants... 1 MOC and 1 loose with complete accessories.  Oh, and merch too.  So, short answer is never.     Completely unrealistic and not my goal to have every pony ever made anyway... but that's the only way I would ever consider it a complete collection!

I doubt my collection will ever be complete. I have too many ponies I love to have in my collection. I think I have more fun tracking them down than anything.

I don't have a goal of completing certain sets or anything, but my want list is pretty big.  And every time I go through Sweet Tune's books my want list keeps growing.  So yeah, I don't see an end to the collecting any time soon.

Easy. I have G1 Glory left on my wishlist... then it's done (except for the unlimited custom collection that is...)

We'll see if I find other ponys to add to my wishlist after that.

Ummm...I honestly have no idea. I guess when it is, I'll know? I know I want to re-buy my childhood herd and the G3's I had to sell off. I would also like to complete the sets I had childhood ponies from. (Like the So Softs because I had Twist and Shady and Northstar.) And then I haven't even started on G2s! lol

I've been collecting since 2003...I would anticipate I will see the twentieth anniversary of collecting. They would have to stop making new ponies and I would have to have enough money that I'd have all the commons of each era and then start deciding on if I wanted to get into Nirvanas or start up a new horse-themed collection. Little girls love horses, so I think there will always be some sort of MLPish toy out there.

 This is pretty easy for me. I only really like the G4s, so I suppose when they stop making them my collecting will be over.

i guess for me that would be when i get every pony i want! probably will never get to that goal though, the ponies have taken over almost all the free space on my shelves!

I think I can call my collection "complete" when I get the remaining US store-release ponies.  I like collecting the accessories, but I don't feel the overwhelming need to absolutely get them.  I just want to say that I've got all the US store ponies, lol!

Of course, if they came out with a new pony I wanted, my collection would be incomplete until I got that particular pony, and then it would be complete again... xD

I would love to have all US and UK ponies and variants first, and then branch out to nirvanas, so I would say never     And I don't even try to collect accessories because I don't know how I would even track them all down- that is impressive hathorcat that you have so many accessories!
