another G1 character in FiM *Spoilers*

If you've seen the prieview clip from the upcoming ep 'the last roundup', Cherries Jubliee is set to appear in FiM. this should be interesting.

If you've seen the prieview clip from the upcoming ep 'the last roundup', Cherries Jubliee is set to appear in FiM. this doesn't excatly thrill me, because there goes another character I have to explain when the G1 VERSION shows up in my fics (I already get PM's about Sparkler AND Lickety Split *Sigh*) I trust them, and I really hope they don't mess her up like they did with Lickety Split !

The new G4 fans have to understand there has been generations of ponies, all with similar looks and names, not just G4's. The G4 line did not start with G4's, and alot are loosly (or not so loosly) based on original pony characters, even original pony names I would have a hard time with replying professionally to those sorts of emails, I would prefer to tell the people sending them to do some research into pony history and suck it up lol.

Yeah, there have been quite a few dopplegangers from previous gens in FiM.

This should be nice. It's disappointing, sometimes, how much they change them, but... I guess you can't stop them. I was a bit put off when I saw the male Lickety Split, but I'm really happy with Applejack and the rest of the G1 ponies.

Yes, it's thier character, and I know the FiM writers are amazing, and they will do the character justice, but I'm just a bit nervous after the male lickety split. :/

If you are upset about having to explain to people constantly, why not put some sort of disclaimer at the beginning of your fic explaining who the characters are based on?   I don't read fics, so I don't know if that is possible or not, but if it is it could maybe help.

I actually love seeing old characters pop up.  To me it's a nice nod to the fact that quite a few of the parents of the target audience (little girls) would have grown up with ponies as well.  It's not just bringing pony gens together, it's bringing together two different generations of people as well
