My First Custom Pony

This is a gift for my friend Tara done as a portrait of her lovely mare, Nenya.  I was so happy to find this forum because I would have never survived this project without all the great info I found here!


First, here is Nenya:

I've been doing realistic models for a while, but this is my very first My Little Pony custom.  The rehairing part was really foreign.  It's pretty addicting though so it won't be my last! :)

:lol: Sure there is. ;) She paints model horses... like I do; hence her avatar. :happy:

Laura... I totally didn't realise that she had the POSEABLE back legs! MAN... seeing her with her "glamour shots"... rather than just cellphone pics... :dropjaw: DANG!!!!

I'm still disappointed that you didn't capture the "opening" on video tho... :P
 
BTW... you are TOTALLY making me one, someday! GAH she's gorgeous!!! :lovey:

That is a beautiful horse, and I love the little stripes of pink in it's mane! That custom is just as stunning as the real horse, LOVELY work :)

Beautiful airbrushing! I love that you gave her the little G3-style hearts in the eyes, it really adds to her otherwise realistic design. Her mane is pretty, I adore that cute forelock, makes her look playful. ^^ (I didn't know there are G3s with posable legs! O.o You learn something new every day... Normally I dislike ponies with posable parts like that but here it looks plain awesome, her patterning makes the legs blend better in her body.) I hope we'll be seeing more of your work soon!

At first I was like "no way that could be your first" but knowing you have done other horse models I can understand, she is amazing none the less, you have really done your friend's lovely mare justice depicting her in plastic :)

She's SO gorgeous! You've used your realistic model horse experience to make an incredible first MLP custom. Your friend is very lucky!

WOW, just wow!  This is one of the loveliest "realistic" customs I have ever seen.  The color gradient on the brown area is just insane.  Amazing work!  :)

Oh, wow! She's pretty fabulous :) Especially for a first- love the pink in the mane, and you did a great job painting the eyes!
