Fashionista Barbies
« on: January 16, 2012, 07:58:21 PM »
Does anybody around here collect them?  I kinda want to get one, but I only want ONE, so I'm being extremely picky.  Is there a Fashionista with the Steffie face mold?  It's always been my absolute favorite.

For face reference:

I don't believe I've seen any of them with the Steffie mold yet (it's my favorite, too!).  Since the fashionistas are mainly a play line, I don't know how likely it'll be to see one.  They've mostly used it for dolls in their collector lines.

Thanks ^_^  Yeah, I figured I wasn't that lucky, lol.  That would make my decision far too easy!  Now I have to look at them all and figure out which one I want

Def. no Steffie face for Fashionista.

I highly suggest the Mackie face they provided for the latest wave as a next-best choice.

She looks better in person IMO.

Oooh, thanks!  I do like that option better than any of the toothy-grin ones that I've seen around.

Can I ask what draws you to the fashionistas? Because if you're after an articulated Barbie that isn't so pink box...you should take a gander at the Barbie Basics 2.5 collection. There's only 3 of them, they're articulated, and the faces are collector quality.

Yeah, I'm looking for an articulated Barbie.  I do love that brunette's face for the Barbie Basics though...I'll have to look into those a little more.  Thanks for that!

I bought the cutie singer one that looks like Katy Perry and lights up. Love her to death! There;s also an "artsy" one I want on an African American base. She's gorgeous.

Even though the Basic 2.5s are articulated and have nicer face sculpts, they're not pivotal as far as I know. The new Fashionista bodies are much more fun to pose with the pivotal ability and re-bodying a nicer quality head is definitely worth it, in my humble opinion  ^.^

Yes I was pretty grumpy about them not being a full pivotal. More of a hybrid body.

Oh, thanks for the picture!  I don't think I like that...I'll definitely stick with a regular Fashionista.  I want the pivotal body.
