I actually offered to do a commission. I told the person I did not have a set price because pricing would depend on the pony and pose the person wanted in determining how difficult it would be to make. I was then offered $15 to make the sculpture. I told the person that it takes me 10 hours or more to make one depending on the already stated factors and I couldn't do it for that amount. I am not trying to make a living doing this but I feel my time is worth more than that.

The Spike in the egg was sold but the buyer wanted to back out and I allowed it so I still have it but have not re - listed it yet. R2D2 is sold.

I was thinking the twilight sparkle and spike since that's the one I wanted. I was excited you made it. I'll have to try and win it. Smile I think you should definitely take commissions but have a set price so people know what they are getting in to. Even if you just say starting at $40 depending on complexity and refinement that would help some. Most people don't like to commit without a set price in mind. It's a good time to take commissions since some people will have holiday money. And most importantly you enjoy making them. You could also trade them for ponies or other merchandise you need from your wishlists.

Baby Tassels Merry Go Round custom. I am going to try to make the whole set if I have enough bait babies.

I would say start taking commissions for the sculptures - that seems the best way to make money with them - or have a higher starting bid. Smile THey look awesome - especially love bubbles!

I adore your sculpting. It makes me want to try! I would start off those sculptures minimum at $19.99.

Thanks for all the nice comment everyone. But I think I just made my last sculpture. I might do customs like the Baby MGR ponies but I think I am finished making the sculptures entirely from scratch. I really bothers me to know that I spent 10 to 15 hours on something and then list it for sale on eBay and then watch it go for next to nothing. The latest example being the rearing Applejack with the saddlebags and hat listing that just ended selling for $20.50 !!!
I have seen worse ones go for a lot more so I just don't get it. Unless a miracle happens, I am done.

I haven't posted yet, but I've been watching this thread from the start.

Your work has gotten noticably better from the first set of sculptures you posted, and your MGR babies are simply adorable. I think JPP's right -- do the sculptures for sale for commission only. In the mean time, take some sculpey, or even just some cheap clay that won't dry out quickly, and practice. You've got talent, but there are a few anatomical / technique issues which could use some practice to even out.

Keep up the good work, and don't get discouraged. Christmas / holidays are some of the hardest times to sell quality items, as people are tending to buy gifts / cheap presents for their loved ones.

Thanks. Not that I plan on doing any more but just so I can train my eyes to see the way other people do, can you tell me what anatomical / technical issues there are on the last one with Luna? I can see the issues on some of the previous ones but the last one I don't see any.
