I have a TAF Sugarberry I got at a thrift shop. In the bag she looked dirty, but it turns out she's actually lightly smoozed. Her hair is a little frizzy, and she has two marks that should come off with scrubbing. She's pretty good, except for the smooze. So what I'm wondering is...should I save her and try to find someone who wants her and can fix smooze? Or should I go ahead and CM her? She'd be perfect for the CM I wanna do...she has the red hair already. But someone out there may be looking for her, and except for the smooze she's good! The smooze is all over her front legs and chest, and extends a little into her symbol areas. Hardly noticible there tho. Soo...what should I do?

This is where my newbie colors really show... but just what does smooze look like, and how can you fix it?

jessie - smooze is when dirt gets into the pores in the plastic, making it look like the pony has a bunch of little blackheads. you can get rid of it by boiling the pony in water with oxyclean, usually. cancer, on the other hand, is when a pony gets large brown circular stains in the plastic, from mold inside the pony. some have said you can kill mold by swabbing acetone over the stains, but i'm not sure if anyone's found a way to get rid of the stains themselves.

indiglo - put an ad up in the buy/sell/trade forum first asking if anyone needs a smoozy sugarberry. someone may want to try to restore her, or they may just be happy with a less-than-perfect one for their personal collection. if no one bites, then you're free to customize (IMO). ^_^

Hey, thanks for the info! I think I'd heard it before but didn't remember it because I only collect G3s. I think Whizzer has a little on her legs and the tips of her wings, but she's pretty scraped up too so I don't think smooze is the worst of her problems. That Firefly (the only other G1 I have around for reference) has some light specks on her lower body. Is this the same thing?

PostPosted: 0    Post subject: Thanks Dietotaku!

I'm going to post an ad on the board here, and if there's no takers than I guess I'll try the...MLPTP...*shudder* I've decided I'll trade her for a pony I want as custom bait. I thought a bit about my ideas, and decided on some ponies with the haircolor I need. All i ask is that they have un-cut hair (since I'm not ready to try hairing yet). hee!

A white Sugarberry is not easy to find, so if she is very white, I wouldn't customize her.

Hope you can trade her for another bait pony Smile
