So I wanted to try painting a little more detail on a pony for the next project and everyone kindly helped me with how to progress ideas on the Raspberry Nymph hair. After some sketching I decided to dedicate this pony to a lost pet. Our beautiful betta splendens (siamese fighter) named Calcifer yes he was named from Howls Moving Castle ;)). I was in two minds about the body colour but decided I really liked it with the green and pink hair. The siamese fighter has been done in tones of mixed pinks, golds and attempted to do a little more on the eyes, I was going to add gem accents but felt it would be adding too much (though thoughts always appreciated).
I have not sealed this little lady yet, how best to? Just paint the varnish over the symbol and eyes??

Quite difficult to photograph there are more layers and shading
EDIT: Should add this is my first proper reroot with luscious hair (Smurfette was rerooted rescue hair) and still need to fiddle with it.

Further Edit to say, thanks to those in creating a photo collage, I didnt get to try for this one as on the laptop which is new and confusing so next round will attempt!)

She came out beautiful! You found a perfect use for that hair!

What are you using to seal the paint? How you apply it depends on what youre using.

Thanks so much for the help, your words helped me to focus Smile
I have a choice.. Winsor & Newton Matt or Gloss paint on varnish or Spray on varnish dull finish (as long as I tape the hair up).

Havent done a custom this way round before and should I have sealed earlier? Thanks so much for the help!

She's beautiful! I love how that gold paint works Flirty Pony

I don't know about other than spray sealants and I apply those before rehairing, so I'm no help about how to seal a pony at this stage, sorry Sad
