Collecting Since: January of this year is when I actually really got into collecting

Who was your first pony, ever? How did you get it?

As far as I can remember it was either Butterscotch or Secret Surprise Pretty Puff... I got Pretty Puff new, and Butterscotch second hand. Both of them were from my mother.

What generation(s) do you primarily collect? Well, I have WAY more G3's because they're fairly easy to find at the local thrift shop, but I rather like the G1's and am more seriously collecting those... At least the ones I had when I was a kid...

Who is your favorite pony and why? Salty. He was my favorite because he was a boy, and the only Big Bro pony I owned.

Who is your least favorite pony and why? Beddy-Bye Eyed ponies... They creep me out... O.o

What are your thoughts on.....
- G1s? Favorite, they're the originals I grew up with...
- G2s? I at first hated them, but some of them I've seen are ok...
- G3s? The pony toys are cute, but the artwork of them from the cartoons and things look a wee bit wonky...

What would you like to see offered next in the G3 line? Big Brothers!!!! I miss the Brother ponies!!!!

Quite frankly Mimic was never one of my favorites, so (b) would be my answer, that way I could enjoy her.

How do your family and friends feel about your pony habit...or are you still in the collecting closet? My mother was the one who got me into it! She started buying ponies at the thrift store for my daughter, which got me into it... So she's totally ok with it!

Do you ever see yourself *not* collecting anymore? What do you think would make you stop? Yeah, once I get the ones I want, but I'll still buy them to customize, and for my daughter until she decides she doesn't like them anymore... Then I'll box those up and save them for her until she's older.

MOC G1s Preserve them or let them free? Be Free, my friends!!

Tell the truth! Do you ever still play with your ponies? I take them down off the shelf and brush them, and dress them up and pose them on things... And I play with my daughter with hers... So yeah, I guess I do... lol!

Are you a customizer? If not, would you ever? Yes, I think it's good to take a thrashed old pony and make it pretty again, especially if you make into something out of your imagination.

What are your thoughts on custom ponies? I think they're beautiful!

What rare/popular pony just makes you ask...WHY? Rapunzel... I don't get why she's so expensive and sought after...

- Total? 43
- From each generation? 23 G1's, 14 G3's, 6 G1 Reproductions (I got the 2 Earth Pony boxes)

What is your ultimate collecting goal? I would like to get all of the ponies that I remember I had as a kid, plus all the Sister ponies. As for the newer ones, I want the ones I see and like... Especially those that have to do with art types of symbols.

What's your biggest collecting accomplishment to date? I got a Flat Foot Butterscotch, Sister Starflash, and Pony bride!

What's your biggest collecting regret? That I gave my childhood ponies to my sister for my niece, and my sister probably threw them away because that's what she did with her kids' toys if they didn't pick them up... >.< What's the one pony that just seems to elude you? Salty, so far... But I WILL get him back!!!

What is your favorite pony pose and why? Sitting down... I think it's the coolest pose for the ponies...

Who is your grail pony and why? Do you have it yet? Salty, and Secret Surprise Pretty Puff, those were my two favorites I playes with a lot as a kid... I do not have either of them yet...

Do you collect mostly MIP or loose ponies? Why do you prefer that? All my old ones are loose. Some of the new Core 7 I have are still in the box, but not for long... And the 6 repro. earth ponies are still in their boxes, too... But eventually they'll all be loose because they're toys and meant to be enjoyed as such...

In your opinion, what are some acceptable and unacceptable flaws in ponies? Any and all... They're toys, and the flaws that they have shows how they've been loved, or thrashed...

Do you collect foreigns or variants? If so, what draws you to them? No, too expensive, but I would if I could... The variations from other countries are pretty.

Who's the one pony you'd never, ever get rid of and why? Salty if I ever get him, and my new old Flat Footed Butterscotch! I love those two!!!

Quick! Close your eyes and grab a pony. Who is it and how did you get it? I got two in one hand because they were next to each other... FF Butterscotch and the Camel Pony friend who's name escapes me at the moment... I got Butterscotch from bluerose9978 here, and Camel from the thrift store in a 20 G1 pony haul from my thrift store one day...


BACK IN THE DAY...

Did you have ponies as a kid? If so, how many? Yes, I think between 7 and 20... I don't really remember how many...

Did you improve them by giving them haircuts, painting them with glitter polish, or anything else fun? No, I thought they were pretty as they were. I had a lot of fun just brushing their hair... I think I brushed one almost bald because of that... lol!

Who were the stars of your childhood herd? Salty, Secret Surprise Pretty Puff, and a So Soft one that I don't remember... All I remember about it was she had a yellowish body...

Who were the bad guys? I don't remember... Maybe Salty was a few times when I played with them and I had a bad guy...

Did you watch the TV show? What was your favorite episode and why? Yes, I loved the movie the most... And I even remembered the theme song to the cartoons...

What's your very first pony memory? I was holding Salty, running my fingers over the feathering of his hooves and petting his hair... I think it was when he was first given to me...

Did you have any rare ponies as a kid? Who? I don't think so, but then again I don't remember many of the ones I did have...

THE REAL WORLD

What do you like to do for fun? Play video games... Currently I've been playing Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise for Xbox 360... I also sew and customize dolls and ponies...

Do you have any other hobbies? Please share! I'm also collecting Rainbow Brite stuff.

What three places are you dying to see? Minnesota (again), Ireland, England. In that order.

My best thriftstore/fleamarket/garage sale find was.... 20 G1 ponies, most in Near Mint condition, for under $1 per pony... And getting the G1 Lil Tot for free at a garage sale

When I was new, I didn't know any better that...this world is a harsh and terrible mistress...

What sets me apart as a collector is.... I'm only trying to get back my old collection, I don't want all of them that were ever made... lol
