VENUS! SAILOR MERCURY! And those are the WIPs I have for you guys today. One venus and one mercury sailor scout ponies for two of my dearest friends. I've been pretty strapped for cash lately, so I was lucky enough to get some hard earned exam money just in time to get their bases. Even more luckily, they're not needed until after christmas and their hair is somewhere in the USPS :3 But I has pics for ya'll...

These gals have been a hassle and a half, they're even bringing down the wear and tear on one of my brushes! It's cracking and beginning to break! but I hope my friend likes them, she's been waiting long enough XD

P.S. I'm thinking about putting eyeshadow on them, any suggestions?

with you haveing the eyes already done I would advise against eyeshadow!

Wow they look great! I'm surprised no one has done any sailor moon themed customs yet, have they? They eyes look great as they are, but if you really want to, you could always make it a subdued shimmery version of their main color (ex: sailor mercury would be a light glittery blue).

I so dig those eyes they look great!!! These are coming along so nicely.

The eyes are beautiful! I agree with Phynix though, since you've already got them painted, i'd avoid the eyeshadow.

looks like you were having trouble getting the orange on v-chan's boots to cover properly though. I'd wait several hours (maybe over night) and hit them up with a few more coats of orange to get an even coverage. There's some uneven lines too, which is actually really easy to fix.

get some acetone and an old cruddy paintbrush and VERY CAREFULLY go over the spots that are uneven..it should lift up the paint pretty easily, and if you have any leftover orange hanging out, you can use a cotton swab and acetone to clean that up.

thank you panda! That bad coverage is my poor attempt to make her shoes look glittery by adding some gold paint. It worked fine with Merc's shoes (very nice, subtle shimmer IRL) and V is being stubborn at every turn. It's been a night now, so when I get home from school, I'll be a-painting. :3

They are coming along quite nicely. Love the eyes! Good luck with them.

Neat! i cant wait to see how that turns out then Are you mixing the gold paint with the orange, or are you putting the gold on as a top coat?

if its just a topcoat then i wouldnt worry about it too bad, sometimes the camera will just catch the reflections oddly. I find that mixing the gold into the paint creates a really subtle look, but it will lighten the orange up just a tiny bit.
